Sunday comics are something that everyone has been fascinated with since their childhood. Our favorite characters called to us every Sunday morning, begging to be read. For many children, this was the first thing they were interested in reading. Now that you've gotten older, you may still occasionally look at the Sunday comics, but what do you do with them after you've finished your Sunday paper? Many people just toss them in the recycling bin and that's it. But, have you considered keeping some of the Sunday comics that you find extremely funny or clever? The next time you find a Sunday comic that you really enjoy, keep it and recycle it into one of these fun projects.

5 Ways to Recycle Sunday Comics #1: Gift Wrap

Why throw away the Sunday comics when you could recycle them into gift wrap? This is a great way to wrap gifts for children or to wrap nostalgic birthday gifts. You do need to be careful when you recycle Sunday comics this way because they are easily ripped. You may want to use two layers of the Sunday comics to ensure that the gift remains wrapped until the person opens it.

5 Ways to Recycle Sunday Comics #2: Comic Books

If you've ever been in a bookstore or enjoy a certain character from the Sunday comics, you may have noticed that you can buy books filled with comic strips. But, why buy what you can make? This is a fun way to recycle your favorite Sunday comics. The next time you come across a comic strip you enjoy, clip it out and place it in a photo album. You really will enjoy going back and looking at all the Sunday comics from previous years.

5 Ways to Recycle Sunday Comics #3: A Reminder

Sometimes the Sunday comics can be quite clever. If you are trying to watch your weight, keep an eye on the Garfield comic strip. Garfield usually has wonderful comic strips that you can place on your fridge as a nice little reminder of how you want to shed those extra pounds. Simply clip out your favorite reminders and place them wherever you need the reminder most. This is a great way to recycle Sunday comics and serve as a reminder at the same time.

5 Ways to Recycle Sunday Comics #4: Get Well Card

A homemade gift card is always a welcome gift when someone is feeling under the weather. To make homemade cards using recycled Sunday comics you will need to keep an eye out for comic strips that revolve around colds. Whenever you find these, clip them out and save them for later. Then when you have a sick friend, place the comic strip inside a piece of cardstock and write a little message to go with it. This is a cute way to recycle Sunday comics that will go a long ways to making your loved ones feel better.

5 Ways to Recycle Sunday Comics #5: A Quick Smile

Sometimes we all need a quick smile. Whether you're having a bad day or you're just feeling down, a comic strip can make you smile. When you come across a comic strip that truly makes you smile and even laugh out loud, clip it out. Attach these comic strips to your computer, fridge, or anywhere else you may need a quick smile. This is a great way to recycle Sunday comics because it makes you happy and when you're happy, you'll be in a much better mood.
